Catalysts

Grace Catalysts Technologies is recognized as the global leader in specialty inorganic catalysts.  Grace develops and manufactures catalysts and related products and technologies used in energy and refining, polyolefins and plastics, as well as petrochemical, and other chemical manufacturing applications.

We support our products with world-class technical service, experienced research and development and unsurpassed analytical tools, like our DCR™ Circulating Riser, which simulates commercial performance on a lab scale for fluid bed catalyst systems.  We hold market-leading positions in all key segments:

Fine Chemicals

Major pharmaceutical, cosmetic, dietary supplement and other companies have long relied on Grace to supply the materials science expertise necessary to take their products from small clinical trials to large-scale commercial manufacturing.

With a cGMP facility in Albany, Oregon, USA, Grace partners with customers to solve complex challenges in custom chemical synthesis to produce high-quality, made-to-order compounds. Grace provides the vital building blocks for a range of products from regulatory starting materials to advanced intermediates, along with customized product development, project management, and scale-up capabilities

Adsorbents

Grace® zeolite molecular sieves are crystalline, highly porous materials, which belong to the class of alumina silicates. They are purely synthetic materials and are characterized by the following properties:

  • Selective adsorption due to the uniform pore size of the zeolite structure
  • High adsorption capacity for polar substances at low concentrations

These crystals have a three-dimensional structure, with pores of precisely defined diameters. They are designed to allow smaller molecules such as water, CO2, and H2S to be adsorbed while excluding larger molecules, hence the name "molecular sieve". Grace offers a wide range of pore sizes to "sieve" molecules of various sizes and shapes including gases and liquids.

Synthetic Silicas

When Grace became the first company to commercially produce silica gel in 1921, no one could have imagined the powerful role silica would play in many technological advances. Across our continuing history of innovation, Grace has led the way in researching and refining silica's properties and capabilities. Today, Grace produces a wide spectrum of silica products including synthetic amorphous silica gel, colloidal silica, and precipitated silica.

With silica manufacturing facilities, R&D centers, and sales offices worldwide, we are well equipped to meet the challenges of today's global marketplace while delivering local service and support. Our large-scale manufacturing capabilities, strict quality control, and secure supply chain round out a partnership you can trust.

For decades, Grace® silicas have been used in a wide range of industrial and consumer applications. Our synthetic silicas improve product performance and enhance manufacturing processes within an extensive range of functionalities, product types, and application areas including:
